I was both extremely shocked and thrilled at the same time to learn that Google is now offering domain name parking. I am personally a big fan of Google, I simply love that they continue to constantly evolve and that they are always adding new features to all of their products. Most of their products start off very simple and plain, then after a year or so, they become diverse and enriched with features. Google’s Adsense is no different, their latest new feature Adsense for domains only proves my point.
Currently, Adsense for domains is a little complicated to setup as you are required to adjust the A records and CNAME for each domain name that you wish to park. Additionally, the simple one click parking page template with adjustable color palette is less then desirable. With all that aside, I still wonder what the monetization will be like. Will the generated revenue be comparable to domain parking aggregators like DomainSponsor or Sedo? Only one way to find out.
In order to utilize the new Adsense for domains feature you will need to be an Adsense publisher within North America. However, I’m sure that this restriction will not last long and that when this feature becomes available to Adsense publishers outside of North American there will be significant improvements. While Adsense’s newest feature leaves me begging for more options and customization, I’m sure the wait will be well worth it.
